Our association is committed every day to making this world a better place, by providing help and support to those who need it the most. It is by working together, by giving our time, our energy, and our hearts, that we can truly make a difference.

M BARABHAI FAROUKFounded on April 8, 1993, in Réunion, the association VEMM – Living Together in a Better World – was born from a deep desire to build a more supportive world. Our goal is to provide tangible help to the most vulnerable populations. By gradually expanding our scope of action, we now operate both locally and internationally, in areas where basic needs often remain unmet.
The VEMM association works to improve the lives of vulnerable populations in several essential areas. Through targeted actions, we intervene in:
Food aid: we organize food distributions in areas affected by malnutrition and food insecurity.
Education: we make literacy and education accessible to all, particularly children and young people.
Access to water: we participate in the construction of wells and sanitation infrastructure to ensure sustainable access to clean drinking water.
Our actions aim to strengthen local capacities, offering sustainable solutions for a positive and lasting impact in each community.
At VEMM, we act with impeccable ethics, based on values of solidarity, impartiality, and transparency. We help the most vulnerable without distinction, respecting their dignity and managing resources with rigor. Beyond emergency aid, our goal is to empower communities through sustainable solutions. Together, we can build a more supportive and humane future.
Since its foundation on April 8, 1993, the association VEMM - Living Together in a Better World has been passionately working to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations, both in Réunion and internationally. Our actions are centered around three main areas, allowing us to provide immediate support while working on long-term projects.
We intervene quickly to meet the vital needs of populations in crisis, providing food, clean water, medical care, and shelter. Whether in Réunion, Madagascar, the Comoros, Somaliland, India, or Pakistan, we act to immediately alleviate the suffering of populations during crises or natural disasters.
We support local projects that promote self-sufficiency and strengthen community resilience in the long term. For example, by building clean water wells, we enable populations to access a vital resource sustainably, reducing their dependence on external aid and allowing them to meet their needs independently.
We collaborate with local stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions that are adapted to economic and environmental realities. In rural areas of Madagascar and Somaliland, for example, we ensure that projects respect the environment while offering stable and sustainable development prospects for future generations.
